  1. It’s not that simple. They only people who would want to share their medical budget are those that haven’t the funds to do so. Everyone who has private insurance and HSAs will give their heads a quick shake, knowing that they are good for the moment but they cannot afford to carry their neighbors. The wealthy will do well, the impoverished will do poorly, and the middle class will be wondering where their money went because there will be nothing there for them when they need it.

    1. Everything you say is very true! (full disclosure: I am a freelancer – I buy my own insurance. I also have a chronic condition for which I have to buy a prescription medication. It is all crazy expensive! I am one of those middle class people totally screwed by our lousy system.)

But out of curiosity, how would you answer my question? Forget how rich or poor you are… Just answer with a yes or no. I think if everyone did this, with complete honesty, it would simplify the discussion.

      1. I considered, and cannot answer in terms of yes or no. It is my believe that throwing money at this issue (or not throwing money at it) will resolve nothing. The dynamics of the system is broken, until it is repaired, who pays what is nothing more than an arguement for the frustrated souls falling into the crack.

    1. Thanks, I like simple. – although, my father would have a fit if he ever saw this, “Nothing is that simple!!!” he would say.
