I am boring

My mind is kaleidoscopic, multifaceted, chaotic.
Bursting with endless thoughts, bouncing like scattered light though my brain.
And with a twist, it is all new.

I find my thoughts captivating.
It’s ok if you don’t.

When I say: I am boring, I’m not looking for a compliment.
Or consolation.
Or an excuse.

We make time for the things that are important.
My words are not important to you.

Your lack of interest will never diminish my fascination with myself.
But I want to know when that interest wanes.
Because what do I gain from sharing my thoughts with you when you don’t want them?
An embarrassing waste of breath.

Both things can be true:  I can admire myself, and value the opinions of others.

What I want is the truth. Tell me I am boring you.
And with a twist, I will find something (or someone) new.
