I’ve visited 16 countries, on 4 continents.
I think that’s enough.
Don’t get me wrong, I like seeing new places, but it’s the getting there and getting home again that pains me.
Most of those long trips, the ones to other countries, were for fun, but I spent 20 years zigzagging across the US for a job. I have developed an allergic reaction to airplanes. And airports. And people in airports and airplanes.
Anyone who tells you “It’s the journey, not the destination,” hasn’t had to endure a twelve-hour layover in Chicago.
